Though it is clearly sturdy and functional, this bag is not black by any stretch of the imagination. It is dark blue. The lining is black which makes the contrast even more obvious.
The shop description also lead me to believe the leather was shipped in from abroad and then made into a bag in the US. The bag arrived with a lot of labels attached that make it obvious it was fabricated in an Asian nation.
The seller was very good to warn me the day I ordered (1/28) that it would take 4 weeks to ship the bag as they “had to start a new batch”, but they marked the item as “shipped” immediately with a shipping number that was not a hyperlink. There were no shipping updates during the 4 weeks I waited and even now (3/8) the status says “shipped” but nothing else.
Good quality overall but not what was expected.

This bag is wonderful, exactly as described! While it did take longer than expected for delivery, I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. It’s sturdy, not too heavy, color is spot on and detail in craftsmanship is quality work. I usually purchase Coach or Fossil bags, and this one rates right up there with them. The vendor, Chris, was beyond helpful when contacted about shipping time. Definitely recommend this product and vendor!
