Women’s Short Coat Retro Flower Embroidery

You know that moment when a new january is there but there’s still no end to the winter? That should be one of the purposes of this coat, apart from comfortable, flattering shape, nice design, colour, length, retro feeling, handwork……Bright colour and flowers rather invite positive vibes, warm time of the year, make you look forward! This is a moderately fit & flare, 74cm long coat in colour bright red, made 40% of wool, 40% polyester and 20% viscose – a very good mix in order still to stay by 60% of natural fibers, but mixture makes it less prone to crumpling. We see a big, dominant collar, that lies beautifully and makes a resemblance to women’s coats of 1910s. Modern idea are 2 sets of pockets, both sort of hidden! As you can see on photos, there are upper pockets hidden in a seam and under them another pair is hidden in pleats that start from just above hips and help to maintain this fit and flare form. This coat is not only “some coat”, although the design is so interesting that it gives statement alone…but, it deserves to be even more unique, with slight, not overdone, interventions, embroideries, decorations, etc. I took off the original belt that stood low on the hips. I changed buttons from plastic black to wooden green, red, violet, blue and pink, that match the embroidery pieces I cut smaller, worked on them separately, and handstitched them to the coat all along the button row. These roses and their leaves match not only because embroidery “increases chic”; also pink moments accentuate, red ones humbly fit in and green and blueish-green leaves are the exact contrast colours, enhancing red, and being enhanced by red. I added teeny tiny rose leaves on the angle of the big collar as well, and also on the back of the collar and the remaining belt holder at the waist back. Embroidery, even sewing it finished onto anything, can be quite exhausting, but it’s worth it when you reach the goal and see the results!:) The size of this coat is EU M (38-40) and some of its measurements are these: Length: 74cm, sleeve length: 63cm, hips: 97cm, chest: 96cm, shoulders: 38cm. Under the button closing there is also a metal zipper for closure.
