Our handmade Patchwork kantha quilted jacket is a reversible, versatile piece of clothing. One side is made from silk patchwork beautifully stitched by ancient kantha technique. This side features 2 pockets and small silk covered buttons. The other side is in kantha floral printed quilted cotton and it also closes by buttons. Two way jacket! Kantha is one of the oldest forms of embroidery originating from India, its origins can be traced back to the pre-Vedic age (prior to 1500 BCE). “Kantha” refers to both the style of running stitch, as well as the finished cloth. It passed down in learning and dowry from mother to daughter. This jacket is handmade so they are not two pieces absolutely identical. We believe that it is a plus as it makes the product special.
